Description
In O.Z. storia di un’emigrazione we set out to read the fairy tale as a metaphor for immigration. During a hurricane, the cruise ship carrying little, very spoiled Dorothy is wrecked. When she wakes up, she finds herself thrown into a world she has never seen before. So begins a long journey through wonderful landscapes, but also through lands torn apart by war and poverty. Along the way, Dorothy meets extraordinary people: a girl fighting for her right to an education (the Scarecrow who wants a brain); a war robot, a former soldier, who wants to win back the freedom to love whoever he chooses (the Tin Woodman in search of a heart); and a deserter everyone believes died gloriously in battle (the Cowardly Lion). They are all travelling towards O.Z. Towards hope, towards the utopia of changing their lives. But O.Z. is a fiction. O.Z. is just one of the many "Lampedusas" of our time.
Eco di fondo will be joined by Audiolibri Librivivi – Emozioni da ascoltare, and every audience member will receive a free box set (e-book + audiobook) of The Wizard of Oz.
